The Reverend Dr. Albert “Chick” Morrison, Jr. is a native of Edisto Island, South Carolina. He was licensed to preach the gospel in 1992 and became the New First Missionary Baptist church pastor in 1998. God saw fit to render unto us a disciple that would walk in the ways of God with dignity, honor and righteousness, someone that would be a leader of his people and nurture his flock here on earth.
Rev. Dr. Morrison was not always a pastor, but he has always been a child of the king. He has not always been a leader, but God chose him to lead this flock, he has not always been adventurous, but God chose him to seek higher heights, he has not always ventured far from home, but God gave him a vision and the ability to lead his people. Rev. Dr. Morrison is known by the fruits of his labor and to know him is to love him. One cannot find a more devoted pastor, father, son, brother, family member or friend.
Rev. Dr. Morrison received his religious education from Cummings Theological Seminary, Summerville, SC, and Morris College School of Religious Studies in Sumter. SC. He is a community activist, serving as past president of the Edisto Island Community Association and the Edisto Island Ministerial Alliance. He is currently a member of the Edisto Island Land Trust, Safe and Orderly School Board, and Sea Island Cultural Arts Festival and serves on the Board of the Rural Mission on Johns Island.
His love for God, seniors, and young people has led him to add new disciples and a variety of new ministries designed to strengthen families and develop youths in their Christian walk. Our church ministry has expanded under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Morrison. Souls have been saved, ministries have been implemented, deacons and ministers have been ordained. And we are reaping many rewards from the fruits of his labor. He is the parent of two sons, Curtis and Kelvin, Daughters-in-law; Karen and Kimberly, grandparent and
great-grandparent.
